Class Descriptions

Ballet

 

Ballet is based on an elaborate formal technique characterized by movements of grace, precision, and fluidity. Our ballet classes focus on proper body alignment, flexibility, coordination, balance, and musicality. Ballet technique is the foundation of all other dance styles.

Jazz

 

This dance style is energetic and fun, consisting of quick movements, leaps, and turns. Our jazz classes includes isolations, across-the-floor progressions, and combinations.

Hip-Hop

 

Hip Hop is a funky style of jazz. Our classes include upbeat, high energy, and rhythmic combinations focusing on body isolations as well as smooth and sharp movements.

Tap

 

Tap is a style of dance that emphasis rhythm, style, and sound. Our tap classes focus on learning basic tap steps and combinations with an emphasis on rhythm and producing clear tap sounds.

Lyrical

 

Lyrical is a fusion of ballet and jazz dance. Dancers work to connect their steps together with fluidity and grace. Our lyrical classes consist of across-the-floor progressions, center combinations, floor work, and group lifts.

Creative Movement/Pre-K Ballet

 

These classes are offered for our 2-5 year olds as an introduction to ballet. Students are able to use their imagination and creativity in a fun environment while learning the art of dance. These classes focus on rhythm skills, movement through music, and following directions.

Pointe

 

This class is offered to advanced ballet students through teacher recommendation.

Musical Theatre

 

Musical Theatre is a form of theatrical performance that combines songs, spoken dialogue, acting, and dance. This class focuses on bringing these four elements together giving students a full performance experience.

KinderDance

 

This class is offered to our Kindergarteners. We offer two different combo KinderDance classes: ballet/jazz or ballet/tap.
